March has been dedicated to focus on nutrition on the national stage. National Nutrition Month is a campaign dedicated to providing nutrition education and information with an emphasis on the importance of making informed food choices; developing sound eating, and physical activity habits. During this month, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, desires to achieve its vision of a world where all people thrive through the transformative power of food and nutrition.

-Discover the benefits of a healthy eating style.
-Choose foods and drinks that are good for your health.
-Include a variety of healthful foods from all food groups on a regular basis. Example - MyPlate
-Select healthier options when away from home. Example - If dining out for meals.
-Be mindful of portion sizes.
-Keep it simple. Eating healthy does not have to be complicated.
-Make food safety apart of your routine.
-Help to reduce food waste by considering foods you have on hand before buying more at the store
-Be physically active most days of the week.
