Bless My Heart

February is Heart Health Month. This is a month near and dear to our hearts. Why?

Because the majority of our education and trainings impact the heart in some shape or form.

CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) - CPR when started quickly after onset of the event saves lives. Everyone should learn some level of CPR. There are stories of elementary school kids saving parents and grandparents wth CPR. Most people will maintain their certification if it is required for work or employment but less people keep current CPR certification for their own benefit. The majority of cardiac events will occur at home. Are you prepared to save the life of your loved one? CPR guidelines update every 2 years and so should you. CPR of all levels is a service offering of Zing Life. See current classes or contact us for customized training for your business or organization.

Go Red - Heart disease is the leading cause of death in both men and women in the United States. Statistics show that 1:3 women will die of heart disease. Red is the color of the heart symbol and red is also the color of blood so how appropriate to have a Go Red movement. Make sure you utilize the available resources to increase your heart health education level. Look for heart health events and ways to get involved. Zing Life Services is looking forward to 100 Women in Red which will educate, impact and motivate the community. This FREE event is our way to show how much we love serving YOU. Healthy Heart - A healthy heart is a great heart. How do you keep a healthy heart?

You keep negative risk factors low and positive health factors high. Many of the modifiable risk factors are nothing new.

-Lose weight

-Stop smoking

-Lower cholesterol

-Limit alcohol

-Control chronic illnesses such as High Blood Pressure and Diabetes

Improvement of activity level and healthy eating habits are desirable especially if you have already had a heart event or stroke. Stoked By Love - Guide for Stroke Survivors and Caregivers educates individuals on how to protect the mind, body and heart after a stroke. It can also be used as a basis for recovery following a heart event.

Take the time to celebrate Heart Health Month in February but take the tools with you all year long. Bless your heart and love to live.
